VIETNAM–Leading Spanish hotel Group, Meliá Hotels International has announced the signature of a new property in Vietnam, extending the Group’s presence in the country where it currently operates six hotels, with a further seven in the pipeline. The Company will take over the management of The Reed Hotel, Ninh Binh, Vietnam in May 2019, further demonstrating their commitment to expansion in APAC.

Meliá Hotels International is a global leader in the bleisure segment, having originated in resort destinations and plans to expand into increasingly resort-led urban properties in leading leisure and business destinations around the world. The new Ninh Binh property will open under the Group’s wellness-focused brand, Meliá Hotels & Resorts in 2020, following a complete refurbishment.

Located in the heart of the Ninh Binh province, the hotel is situated within the tallest building in Ninh Binh, offering exceptional panoramic views of the city and the Song Day river. Meliá Ninh Binh will offer 160 rooms and suites, as well as facilities for meetings and events. It is becoming a key MICE destination for Vietnam. Managed by Meliá Hotels International, The Ninh Binh Convention Centre is directly next door to the property, offering further MICE opportunities for business and leisure visitors.

Meliá Ninh Binh will have an infinity pool with impressive skyline views, state-of-the-art fitness centre and Meliá Hotels & Resorts VIP service, The Level, offering private check-in and check-out, as well as other exclusive facilities. The property will include an all-day dining restaurant offering international cuisine, as well as a café and a la carte restaurant serving local specialities. The hotel will also have easy access to the most popular local attractions directly from the hotel, including the Cuc Phuong National Park, the Trang An Scenic Complex, which was the chosen location for the latest King Kong film and the nearby historic city Hoa Lu Ancient Capital.

Bernado Cabod, Regional Vice President of Meliá Hotels International Asia Pacific said: “With the signing of Meliá Ninh Binh, we’re excited to bring another Meliá Hotels & Resorts property to the region, further enhancing the importance of Vietnam in APAC for the group. This signing is a key part of our wider expansion into APAC with a focus on “bleisure” destinations.”
